This week we celebrate the fact that John Burton, our Managing Director, celebrates 30 years working at J W Wood.

John started as a young assistant in 1986 at the age of 22, following his college education and a diploma in Estate Management, having spent many school holidays at JW Wood from the age of 15.

John found his niche in the early days working in the Estate Management and Commercial Department, graduating as Assistant Manager and Manager, and finally becoming a Director and shareholder in 1992.

John is married to Pauline, who is responsible for HR along with a range of other duties at JW Wood. Pauline’s daughters, Kirsty and Claire support John in the Property Management company - a truly family affair.

John played cricket in his youth with Durham City, and today enjoys long walks, family holidays and following his football team Liverpool.

Chairman, Keith Johnson, says it has been a real pleasure watching John develop from a young school boy to the consummate professional that he is today, and we all look forward to John’s continuing commitment to JW Wood in the years to come.
