Durham Women FC are delighted to announce the signing of former Notts County and Doncaster Rovers Belles winger Emily Roberts.
Having begun her career at Lincoln Ladies and later Notts County Ladies, the winger gained valuable experience playing in the top flight of the FA Women’s Super League.
In 2015, she joined Doncaster Rovers Belles on a season long loan, netting six times, including twice against Durham, as the Belles gained promotion to FA WSL 1.
Comfortable anywhere across the front three, Roberts will add some experience and depth to the squad currently sitting fourth in FA WSL 2.
Commenting on the addition of Roberts, manager Lee Sanders said: “I’m delighted to capture the signature of Emily Roberts.
“She’s a player we know from having played against her in the FA WSL and in the North East at university level.
“She’ll bring experience of having played in FA WSL 1 and being part of a very successful Doncaster Rovers Belles side last season.
“I’m sure that she’ll fit right in with the squad from what we’ve seen so far, and she’ll give us another attacking option as we go into the second half of the season.”
