JW Wood are pleased to announce the promotions of Chris Clarkson to the position of Director (JW Wood Chester le Street) and Dawn Pirie to Associate Director (JW Wood Lettings).

Dawn joined Woods in 2006 at the age of 18, after completing her A Levels. She started in an administrative position covering maternity leave with the intention of starting university full time the following year. When the time came for Dawn to leave she approached us to ask if she could continue her employment, since then through sheer determination and hard work she has progressed and is now responsible for the day to day running of our Lettings Department.

Whilst working full time to build her career Dawn also studied to complete her BA in Business Management achieving a first class degree, graduating in November 2013. Dawn thoroughly enjoys her career and strives in a challenging and complex environment, during the last 8 years she has become very experienced building a great deal of knowledge and prides herself on providing our clients with the very best advice and service.

Managing Director John Burton says “I have watched Dawn mature and develop to become an essential part of our team and I am delighted that she has committed her future to JW Wood.”

Chris joined JW Wood as a negotiator in our Durham Branch back in 2000. Since then he moved to our Stanley branch in the role of a valuer and rapidly progressed, taking over the management of the branch to becoming our Area Manager, covering both Stanley and Consett. Under his management these branches have flourished and he has been rewarded with his promotion to Director. Chris is a member of The National Association of Estate Agents and lives near Durham with his wife and daughter.

Chairman Keith Johnson states “I first met Chris when he joined us as a junior negotiator. And was impressed with his drive and commitment. In the last 14 years he has developed into an excellent leader and manager. Dawn and Chris are part of the new generation of quality staff who will continue the tradition of our firm which has been serving the Durham community since 1910. I welcome them into the senior management of our company.”
