As we rapidly approach the end of 2018 it is always interesting to look back on the previous year and ahead to next year.

2018 was a very good year for us here at JW Wood having sold in excess of £151 million pounds worth of property.

At the moment we are in the middle of political turmoil with the issues over Brexit and of course the recent vote of no confidence in the Prime Minister.

No doubt there will be interesting times ahead of us in 2019. Irrespective of the outcome of Brexit, it is the uncertainty that can put doubt in the minds of prospective buyers and sellers. However, we are extremely resilient in the North East and are very adaptable to market forces. We don’t see the steep rise and falls in house prices that exist in the South and have realistically priced housing in comparison.

Not only that but we must of course remember we all need somewhere to live whether it be owning our own home or living in rented accommodation. There will always be the need for people to buy and sell if nothing else out of necessity.
