Old(er) Buyers Overtake First Timers
A recent survey taken by Home Sale Network amongst its member estate agents has found a shift in the type of buyer entering the market today, compared to 10 years ago. In 2002, the majority (48%) of survey respondents said that the homebuyer population was mostly made up of young buyers entering the market for the very first time, but 10 years on, this figure has dropped to just 1% of respondents indicating so.

Survey shows agent’s booming sales
Business is booming for a leading estate agent, with completed sales up more than a third compared to the same period last year. JW Wood staff in Durham are celebrating the 34 per cent rise in completions compared to the same five-month period in 2011.

A leading estate agent has been celebrating after recording one of the best years since the recession took hold in 2007. J W Wood, in Old Elvet, Durham, maintained its consistent lead in the area by selling almost double the number of properties compared with its nearest rival in the DH1 postcode area, according to a survey of property websites.
